We usually like to deliver your mini digger around 7am so that we can beat the traffic and you can get started before 9am. However, we received the following question from a client the other day, ‘how soon can I start working this machine with its noise?’ (a question to which I was not able to give a definite answer at the time)
When and how much noise is OK with your mini digger?
Are there rules that say when you can operate a mini digger in the city and it’s noise level? The answer can be found in detail if you go download section 25 of the EP act. (environmental protection act) Or, if you hang about for a word or two more I’ll give you the bottom line.
The short story is this. The Kanga mini digger fits into the category of ‘non-fixed domestic machine noise’. The outcome of the regulations as to when you can use the mini digger is.
- 8am-8pm Monday-Saturday
- 9am-8pm Sunday
This gives you plenty of time to get your machine working and complete your job. You would be hard pushed in winter to have enough light for the time frame allowed. The only limitation in summer is that it would be nice to start a little earlier in the hot weather. Anything over 40degrees I suspect most people will be up by 6-7am anyway! Please don’t take my word for it but arrange an earlier start with your neighbor’s the night before.
So if you want to party late, use a mini digger early, have a dog or just bark like one, then consider the EP’s noise act. Then you should have no surprises when the neighbor’s come knocking! (or the local constabulary personnel!)
